Pet Digital Radiography

Ultrasound

Ultrasonography, a type of diagnostic procedure, uses ultrasound waves to produce an imaging study. This suggests that during ultrasonography, we can see internal images of the patient’s body. Ultrasonography allows for the painless and non-invasive evaluation of many common illnesses. We may examine the architecture of the internal organs using ultrasounds, as well as their location, size, shape, texture, and blood supply.

Radiology

Courtyard Animal Hospital features a full-service digital radiography laboratory and radiology consultation services if your pet needs an X-Ray as part of their diagnostic workup. Like many treatments, getting an X-Ray can be stressful for both the pet and the pet parent, but our specialists can answer any questions or concerns you may have prior to the process.

Our hospital has a brand-new, top-of-the-line Innovet Select high-frequency digital X-ray machine. Additionally, if required, our consultant radiologists can review the x-rays of your pet.

The questions that pet owners with animals that need X-rays ask most frequently are mentioned below.

Why is an x-ray necessary for my pet?
An X-ray is necessary to diagnose your pet’s sickness process. X-rays are not typically used to identify fractures or other conditions as part of a standard physical examination. Instead, they are employed for this purpose. Cancers, bladder stones, foreign objects in your pet’s stomach, and a number of other illnesses that can be harmful to your pet can all be found with an X-ray.
Should my pet be anaesthetized before the x-ray?
Most pets won’t require anaesthesia for an X-ray unless they recently had an injury or the procedure requires holding the animal in an uncomfortable position. For the pictures, our technicians normally position a dog or cat on their side or back.
X-rays: Are they harmful?
The radiation from X-rays can be dangerous, so our experts won’t allow you to be with your pet when they are having them done. The surgery should not be avoided, but, as a result. A pet is only minimally exposed to radiation during an X-ray.
